How to enable Facebook Places on the iPhone?
I’ve been having some trouble getting FB Places to work on my iPhone and I must admit it was all my own fault. Ages ago when I installed Facebook I diasbled the feature that allowed it to use my location and of course the iPhone remembers this.
When Facebook place came out I wanted to use it to check in but kept getting errors stating “Location Unknown” and that the “location services are disabled”. So I checked my Location Services and sure enough they were on, so I was getting pretty frustrated. Only today I realized that there also is a list of apps, where you can allow and disallow each individual app to use the location services and sure enough Facebook was set to off, once I changed that everything worked fine.
So in short to get your FB Places to work on the iPhone if you get the “location services are disabled” error:
- Go to Settings > General > Location Services and make sure they are on
- In the list of applications below make sure that Facebook is set to on

(Only small change to your advice is “Location Services” is in “Settings”, you don’t need to go into “General” (or not on my iphone anyway)

I tried it but the FB one is kind of frozen ish so i cant do much to it.
