I also had one creature get through in an earlier level, but I was playing the "classic" game. The 2nd thing I noticed is that it only requires one halo to upgrade your interest rate. His health meter doesn't even show any life left, but he made it to the finish (thereby ending the game). Perhaps it would be best to upgrade the second tower to level 3 at this point?
