How to fix the Flash error: Where is the debugger or host application running?
Recently after installing my new PC I kept getting strange error messages from Flash player 9 that the debugger couldn’t be found when I openen certain websites. The “Where is the debugger or host application running?” dialog box could be a sign of a corrupted flash player 9 install or missing components.
Here is how to fix the Flash Player debug error:
- If your being prompted with this dialog box in Internet Explorer, Download and install Flash Player 9 ActiveX control content debugger for IE
- If your being prompted with this dialog box in Firefox, Download and install Flash Player 9 Plugin content debugger (for Netscape-compatible browsers)
And as simple as that the annoying debug alert is gone…

3 Quick and Easy Ways to Disable User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista
I just had the pleasure of setting up another computer, the third one this month. One of the first things I always do is turn off UAC.
UAC is very annoying, but disabling UAC will lead to a less secure system. You have been warned!
Method 1 – Using the Control Panel:
- Open up Control Panel and go the the user accounts.
- You’ll see a link for “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off”, click it.
- On the next screen you need to uncheck the box for “Use User Account Control (UAC)”, and then click on the OK button.
- Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
Method 2 – Using MSCONFIG:
- Launch MSCONFIG by from the Run menu.
- Click on the Tools tab and scroll down till you find “Disable UAC”.
- Click on that line and press the “Launch” button.
- A CMD window will open, wai till it is done then close the window.
- Close MSCONFIG and reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
Method 3 – Using Regedit:
- Open the Registry Editor, by typing “regedit” in the run box of the start menu.
- In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
- Locate the following value (DWORD): EnableLUA and give it a value of 0.
- Close Registry Editor and reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
That’s it, now you save your mouse a couple of hundred clicks per day… ;)
Aurora Feint Strategies and how to manage the higher level tools
A lot of people have been complaining that Aurora Feint gets very hard if not impossible when working on the “Mastery” tools. While it is rather a tough job, it is by far not impossible. How can I say that? Well I managed it, as did a whole bunch of other people, so we can rule out impossible.
How to get your scores up there?
Strategy! It’s not good enough anymore to just shuffle blocks back and forwards quickly enough as you will not get enough points in the alotted time to complete the later tools…
Strategies means multipliers: Get loads of them you need to manage to get them up to x10 or above to make things happen. How can you do this? Well a good way to start a chain of multipliers is to use the Alchemist tool (the bottle shaped one), in fact that is the only tool I use.
To get the multiplier chain flowing set up the following combination on a nearly full screen:
Make sure you have at least two different elements lined up, if you get all four that’s even better and then place the alchemist tool in the center (where the green earth element is). This will first of all empty the screen of most blocks and the rest will end up falling together as a combo on the bottom of the screen.
Now to keep the combos flowing you really quickly need to “pull” up more blocks from the bottom of the screen. As soon as you see any three blocks that fit together, combine them and get the combo to keep the chain going. While doing this try and set up a further combo with a higher multiplier…
The knack is to get these started, while the x2 and x3 multipliers are a pain in the butt since the disappear so quickly, higher multipliers (x7 and above) will take a while to “pop” thus giving you more time to set up furhter combos. As with everything in life, practice will make you perfect!
Further tipps:
- Keep the screen as full as possible, this will increase the chances of further combos
- Set up horizontal combos at the bottom of the screen, this will further increase the chance of increasing combos. You want the top blocks to fall onto the lower rows so horizontal is the way to go.
- You don’t NEED special tools to complete the levels. Of course they can help you start things off, but if you are only concentrating on the tools you’ll miss your chance for multipliers…
If my strategy doesn’t help you out, see here for another promising strategy on multipliers!
Good luck and mine on! :D
